Andrew G Marshall at Mind Body & Spirit

Posted by nutricentre 27 May 2010 0 comments

From Andrew G Marshall Blog

I’m delighted to be attending the ‘Mind Body Spirit’ Festival at the Royal Horticultural Halls near Victoria on Saturday 29th May. I’ll be doing a workshop from 10.30 to 2.30pm at the bargain price of just £30 and afterwards signing copies of my books on the Nutri Centre stand.

‘You’ve got to love yourself before you can love anyone else’ - you’ve heard the advice a hundred times before but nobody explains how you can pull off this trick. Well that’s the aim of this work shop, to understand what’s pulling you down, build self-esteem and start attracting the right sort of people (rather than game players or people who can’t commit). So this workshop is especially good for someone looking for love, recovering from a relationship break-up (and hoping not to make the same mistake next time), dealing with ILYB or the fall out from an affair.

If you’d like to find out more, go to the workshop button and to book click the banner advert at the top of this page. There are still places available. Looking forward to meeting as many people as possible.

Maximum Immunity: Identifying the Weak Link in the Immune Chain with Peter Smith, Nutritional Therapist, Homeopath, Chinese Medicine Practitoner

We all know that our immunity is affected by many factors. Diet, Exercise and our state of minds are just three of the nine factors Peter will look at this evening. Using questionnaires, Peter will help you to identify the weakest link in your immunity and offer advice, lifestyle and dietary to help strengthen your resistance.

As you know a chain is only as strong as its? weakest link. The aim of this seminar is to discuss the techniques you can use to strengthen your immune system, and specifically focus the techniques onto the weakest link in your immune system.
For example, you may eat well but deep down have a negative psychology that undermines your immune system, or vice versa.

Your immune system may be let down by: poor diet (either lack of good foods or inclusion of bad foods), poor psychology, poor lymph drainage, poor bowel function, under-active thyroid, stored toxins etc.

We will use simple questionnaire?s to highlight weak links in your immune system. We will then look at practical ways to strengthen the area letting you down, and the universal natural medicine techniques that can be applied to every situation when a better immune system is the goal. Finally we will look at effective natural antibiotics to use should you need them.

Peter Smith practises an eclectic mix of complementary therapies at the Hale Clinic. He been in practice since 1988 and has studied Bicom resonance therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutritional medicine, psychotherapy and complex homeopathy. www.haleclinic.co.uk

You can view the webcast live or at anytime after from The Nutri Centre website.

Essential tips for staying safe in the sun

Summer Products

Summer Protection

Sunshine is the best way to increase our vitamin D levels, making us feel more energised and positive. To achieve the best balance of enjoying the sun while taking care of our skin and preventing damage - we recommend these skin protecting products.

  • - Natural sun tan lotions and sun creams from Green People and Jason. These are free from harmful chemicals – ideal for sensitive skins or those prone to eczema or psoriasis.
  • - Viridian ‘S.P.F – Skin Pro Factors’ capsules are rich in antioxidants which have specific action on reducing the signs of ageing and may protect against skin damage (however these are not a substitute for sun protection creams).

Summer Travel

We believe your holiday should be fun-focused and your body in good health, so you can make the most of your time away from work. Here are some fantastic products for common travel requirements:

  • - Stay well during the flight: Have you ever found yourself sitting next to another passenger who is sneezing and worried about catching a bug yourself? Do you feel generally low after flying and want something to take during the flight to support your immunity? We recommend ‘Sambucol Lozenges’. Made from elderberry extract, these pleasant tasting lozenges are suitable for all ages and provide you with antioxidants and vitamin C to support the immune system. They are ideal to suck throughout the flight.

  • - Travelling can be stressful: with transport connections and delayed travel, keeping children entertained and arriving in a new foreign country.
  • - Tummy Trouble: Its important to take care of your gut while travelling to lessen the chance of picking up stomach bugs and general bacteria – particularly if travelling to tropical countries. 70% of your immune system in your gut – so by supporting that area you will also be boosting your immune system generally. We recommend a probiotic (good bacteria) specially designed for travellers called ‘Travel Guard’ by Biocare.

Summer Kids

  • - In the Sunshine!: Our range of natural sun creams for children offer approved protection but without the use of chemicals. These are especially useful for kids who are prone to sensitive skin. We recommend Earth’s Best Mineral Sun block SPF 30 for kids. Green People also make a selection of natural sun blocks, lotions and after-suns suitable for children from birth and upwards.

  • - Travel nutrition: Being away from your normal kitchen setting can sometimes mean your kids aren’t eating a balance of healthy foods. Holidays are supposed to be fun – and that can also include extras sweets, chocolates and ice cream treats. To ensure that they are still keeping up their intake of vitamins and minerals while on holiday, we recommend - Nutrigen ‘Vitamixin’ Sprinkles. This is an easy to use powdered children’s multivitamin in sachet form that is sugar free and can be sprinkled on any cold food.

  • - are easy to use while traveling in the form of pleasant tasting daily sachets (while being sugar free) to sprinkle on any cold food – offering high quality nutrition. The 30 sachet box is small and one individual sachet fits into a pocket. If you have two kids, the pack will last 15 days - perfect for a two week holiday. Nature’s Plus ‘Animal Parade chewable’ is available in a variety of tasty flavors. To kids they will taste like fruit gums –but they are packed with nutrients and free from refined sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Looking Good for Summer

  • - Radiant Hair, Skin and Nails: Being away on holiday is an opportunity to look your best and shine in those holiday snaps! It’s easy for hair and skin to become dry and damaged by sunshine, sea water and chlorine in pools. We recommend Solgar ‘Hair, Skin and Nails’ to support good skin condition and strength and the growth of hair and nails. It is more beneficial to take at least 1 month before you go away and during your time away.

  • - Slim Down: Weight loss - and keeping that weight off – is something many of us struggle with, especially when wanting to prepare for a bikini! Viridian Nutrition have recently launched a new ‘Organic Weight Management Plan’ aimed at ‘clever’ weight management for long term results. This can be used while still eating a healthy balanced diet. This kit contains 4 products plus an information and meal guide.

  • - Banish Cellulite: Before you embark on your holiday, completing a detox is a great way to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It’s easy for toxins to build up from lack of fibre, eating unhealthy foods, hormonal imbalances, chemicals and pollution around us and a lack of water in our diet.

  • - Flat Stomach: Often a daily bowel movement does not adequately flush out toxins that build up on the sides of the bowel wall causing bloating and wind. A bowel cleanse can support you on the way to a flatter stomach. We recommend Triphala Plus by Pukka Herbs for a good bowel cleanse.

  • - Pretty Toes: For most of us our feet never cause us concern until we have to expose them, and as well as being unpleasant to look at, cracked and calloused skin is uncomfortable too. Thanks to Alva’s acclaimed ‘Anti-callous Balm’, calloused cracked skin can be quickly banished. Tea Tree and Manuka Oils help to reduce calloused skin, and white willow helps to ease the discomfort caused by cracked skin. Anti-bacterial manuka oil and anti-fungal calendula help keep foot odor in check and athlete’s foot at bay. Dermatological tests show a 75% reduction of hard, calloused skin in 28 days.
